The good news is that becoming culturally literate is a highly enjoyable and rewarding experience, and the associated skills are highly valued and highly transferable.
If you're a student interested in an international development career, why not build as much international experience as possible, as soon as possible? Pick up additional international relations courses, become involved in on-campus cultural activities, develop your language skills and go abroad to study, intern or volunteer. You won't regret it!
